Dear Colleague,

Congratulations, again, on having your manuscript accepted for presentation at the 2009 American Academy of Advertising annual conference. Here are instructions on how to prepare your paper/abstract for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Please note that there are different instructions depending on whether you have an abstract, extended abstract, full paper, special topics session or pre-conference session.

Please note that your final submission must be properly formatted and received by

April 7, 2009.

These samples demonstrate how to format the final submission. Please use the samples as templates and format precisely as shown. Submissions that do not adhere to proper formatting will be returned to the author(s) to be revised and resubmitted.

  1. Preparing your abstract for the Proceedings ( PDF)
  2. Preparing your full-length paper for the Proceedings ( PDF)
  3. Preparing your special topics for the Proceedings ( PDF)
  4. Preparing your pre-conference submission for the Proceedings ( PDF)
  5. Preparing your tables and references for the Proceedings ( PDF)

Here are some helpful steps:

  1. First, decide whether you want to publish an abstract, extended abstract or full-length paper (see below).

  2. Then, format your paper/abstract/extended abstract following the instructions exactly. Pre-conference and special topic sessions will also follow the format in the samples above.

  3. Upload your final paper or abstract to the Confmaster website at http://aaa09.confmaster.net   by April 7, 2009.

In deciding whether to publish an abstract or a full-length paper, you may be interested to know that the AAA has agreements with both EBSCO and ProQuest to have your paper(s) included in their databases, making them accessible by researchers all over the world! Consequently, I encourage you to seriously consider the merits of publishing a full paper instead of just an abstract or extended abstract.

Note that there is a 12-page, single-spaced maximum (including references, tables, etc.) for full-length papers.

Abstracts are typically short, no more than 2 pages, and extended abstracts are longer, typically up to 4 pages in length. See attached files for additional formatting instructions.

The deadline to upload papers/abstracts to Confmaster is April 7, 2009. Upon submission, you granted copyright permission to publish your manuscript in the AAA Proceedings, so no copyright form is necessary.

To recap, here is what you need to do by April 7, 2009:

  1. Prepare your manuscript according to the attached instructions.
  2. Upload your revised paper to the Confmaster website at  http://aaa09.confmaster.net .

I look forward to seeing you in Cincinnati for our annual AAA conference!

Sincerely,
